Volunteer Services is excited to announce that the Haven will be starting a Volunteer Advisory Committee focused on informing our volunteer services and ensuring that volunteer voice is part of program discussions, decisions, and evaluations. This is a new endeavor for the Haven and we are excited to see the possibilities. In addition, we hope this process helps serve as a learning opportunity to improve future systems aimed at including consumer voice in our work.

Meeting Times: Every other month from Sept – June for 1.5 hours. For this year we will have an initial planning meeting in October and start committee meetings in November.
Size: 12 – 14 members. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee.
Location: Mix of online and in person meetings depending on season and topic.
Commitment: We are asking for a 2-year commitment, with the understanding that things come up.
Stipends: Are available if it will allow participation due to transportation costs, child care expense, etc.
Initial Topic Ideas to bring to Committee:
- Reviewing volunteer trainings and manual
- Input on volunteer processes from onboarding to exit
- Ideas for diversifying recruiting practices and volunteer pool
- Review language used in written materials
- Increasing volunteer voice and communications
