About our Housing Liaison

The Upper Valley Haven’s Housing Liaison provides support to property managers to assist our clients in successful tenancy. Services include education to property managers on available financial incentive programs and serves as a liaison between property managers, Haven service coordinators, and tenants.

The Housing Liaison

  • Works as part of your team for successful tenancy.
  • Provides education on eligibility requirements for financial incentive programs, including available local, state, and federal funding.
  • Connects you to resources and helps with application support.
  • Offers problem-solving for landlords and tenants to preserve tenancy, including connections to free mediation services.
  • Will advertise your property on our weekly available units report for faster rentals and referrals of qualified Haven clients.

Benefits to Vermont Property Managers

  • Up to $5000 “risk pool” money for loss of rent during repairs, leasing up paperwork delay, or an unexpected vacancy.
  • Up to $5000 per unit to repair any damage through Vermont’s Landlord Relief Program.
  • Up to $50,000 Vermont Housing Improvement Program (VHIP) grant money to add or rehab a unit.
  • Receive 70% of monthly rent, directly to you, when accepting a tenant with a voucher (30% is paid by the tenant).
  • Local funding can provide a safety net for qualified tenants for needs such as rental arrears or security deposits.
  • A contact at the Haven to improve tenant relations and troubleshoot any problems.
