February brings the best of winter to the Upper Valley. The days are lengthening, January’s bitter cold abates and there is plenty of snow. It’s a great month to shake off cabin fever for some fun in the snow.
The Upper Valley Trail Alliance has a terrific resource for finding trails of different lengths, activities, difficulty, and that are close to you! Check out their video below about the power and benefit of getting out on a trail! They host events like February’s Skate-a-thon on nearby Lake Morey, skates included with registration. Use UVTA’s trailfinder all year to find the perfect trail. In February, you might search on snowshoeing or skiing.
A search of options near the Haven reveals the hidden gem directly across the river from the Haven. West Lebanon’s Riverpark doesn’t look like much from Route 10, but follow the trails down to the river and you enter a new and beautiful world! You can ski and snowshoe there all winter, before or after work. There are picnic tables for warm weather hikes and outings.
Grab a friend and explore a new corner of the UV. Your body and brain will thank you.
