Since 1980, the Haven has provided temporary shelter and educational programming for homeless families and adults, as well as food to anyone in need. The Haven offers support and fosters independence through four domains of service: Food, Shelter, Education, and Problem Solving. The Haven is open 365 days per year and never charges for any of its services. We serve over 14,500 people per year.

Overview
We are seeking Seasonal Shelter Staff for our Lebanon, NH location. Openings available on second (4:00 pm – 12:30 am) and third (12:00 am – 8:30 am) shifts 7 days a week. Ideal candidates will have a passion for helping their fellow community members and a willingness to learn. We invite applicants with lived experience to apply.
The Lebanon Seasonal Shelter will have two staff members on each shift. Once trained, Seasonal Shelter Staff can also pick up shifts on a per diem basis at our year-round shelters in White River Junction.
Seasonal Shelter Staff assist guests with a variety of needs, facilitate operations, conduct intake paperwork, help serve meals, and ensure the environment is safe, clean, and welcoming. Staff build positive and supportive relationships and are respectful and accepting of people facing challenges in their lives.
Reliability and punctuality are vitally important to ensure the smooth operation of the shelter. This is an awake position, both shifts.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is $22.00 per hour plus an additional $1.50 per hour for third shift. This position accrues paid time off based on hours worked. Staff who work through the end of the program in mid-April will receive a retention bonus based on hours worked.
Requirements
Critical to the success of this position are:

- De-escalation skills and an understanding of trauma, substance misuse and mental health concerns

- Must be able to bend, move about, and lift up to 30 pounds
- This position requires custodial-type tasks, restocking supplies, food service, and occasionally clearing and sanding snow on paths

We are currently hiring per diem shelter staff to provide assistance to guests and maintain shelter operations. Per diem shelter staff are accountable to ensuring the environment is safe, clean, and welcoming. Qualified per diem shelter staff work well independently and know how and when to ask for support. They are able to interact effectively with diverse populations and work well in a crisis. They have flexibility and adapt easily to constantly changing circumstances.
We are seeking reliable individuals who have availability to cover first, second and third shifts all days of the week for our regular staff who call out or are taking paid time off. Per diem shelter staff may choose to be on call for a week at a time for an additional generous stipend.
Successful and interested candidates may be also considered for full-time seasonal shelter work at our Lebanon, NH location from mid-December to mid-April. Openings available on second (4:00 pm – 12:30 am) and third (12:00 am – 8:30 am) shifts, 7 days a week.
Starting pay is $20.00 per hour plus a $1.50 third shift differential with opportunities for professional growth.

Rare opportunity to work with a concentrated caseload of 15 households! Documentation required, but no billing restrictions so staff member has ability to work in a creative and adaptive manner. Clinical supervision provided by an LICSW for those seeking licensure. Perfect position for skilled visionary with clinical skills who enjoys building relationships, developing programs and community connections, and working with a diverse group of individuals who will be housed in a brand new building with office space on site! We have an opening on our Service Coordinator team for an open-minded, strengths-based professional to provide case management and coordination of services for tenants who have a variety of needs and goals. We seek candidates who are invested in working alongside individuals to find long-term solutions to establish and maintain stability while housed in permanent supportive housing units in White River Junction, Vermont.
The ideal candidate will have experience working collaboratively with agencies and community partners to coordinate services. Strong rapport-building skills, perseverance, outside-the-box thinking, creativity, and developed clinical skills a must. Must enjoy a fast-paced environment which requires multi-tasking, problem-solving, and a boots-on-the-ground approach. Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working both collaboratively and autonomously while performing home visits and community-based work. Candidate consistently follows all guidelines for the timely submission of required documentation. This position may require limited travel within the Upper Valley and company vehicles and/or mileage reimbursement are available.

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position with some scheduling flexibility. The salary range is $52,000 to $56,000 depending on education and experience.

- Knowledge of risk factors associated with homelessness, as well as knowledge and experience working with issues of poverty, mental health, and substance misuse

- Valid driver’s license
Qualified applicants will have a BA or higher in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Counseling or a related field. Four years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. This full-time position will receive supervision from a Licensed Clinician.

Overview
The Family Programs Supervisor provides clinical oversight and supervision to a team of Service Coordinators who work with families in shelter and supported housing programs, Shelter Staff who work in the Byrne Family Shelter and the Per Diem Shelter Staff pool. They also provide program oversight and supervision to the Children’s Services Program. They are a contributing and collaborative member of the Haven’s Leadership Team.
The Family Programs Supervisor provides training and development of their team that ensures the Haven’s vision, mission and values are instilled in the team’s work. They provide leadership in designing, documenting and measuring the efficacy of the programs they oversee. They identify opportunities for furthering and enhancing the Haven’s mission and represent the Haven in the community through participation in events, representation on local and/or statewide committees, and public presentations.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have an MS in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or a similar degree. They will bring 5+ years of experience working with people and families living in poverty including work assignments in shelter, outreach, or related fields. Also required are strong clinical practice management and supervisory skills as well as deep knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorder.
Please note: This position requires being on a 5-week rotation of on-call coverage 24/7, Friday-Friday.

We are seeking a team player to provide a welcoming experience to all who visit or call the Haven and serve as a flexible resource to fill staffing gaps for both our Front Desk and our Food Shelf Registration Desk. This is a per diem position without a fixed schedule.
Overview
At the Front Desk, you will serve everyone who enters the Haven – visitors, donors, and others – by welcoming them and directing them to the appropriate location or assisting them when possible. The ideal candidate is motivated to help people and is comfortable engaging with people who may be experiencing symptoms related to mental illness or substance use.
At the Food Shelf Registration Desk, you will provide a supportive and welcoming environment for Food Shelf customers during the registration process, paying special attention to orienting first-time customers with the intention of putting them at ease.
You will engage volunteers and guests in keeping with Haven values and principles; demonstrate a commitment to working as part of a team; function as an ambassador for the Haven; and adhere to all Haven policies and procedures.

The hourly pay rate is $20.00/hour.

We are seeking a Registration Coordinator to provide a supportive and welcoming environment to our Community Food Market customers during the registration process. Our ideal candidate has a knack for putting people at ease, especially when they are feeling vulnerable. They understand that we can’t serve our community without our amazing volunteers and is skilled at training and supporting them. They will ensure that our Food Market registration data are entered in a timely and accurate manner. The Registration Coordinator is also trained to fill in at our Front Desk to cover breaks, absences, and busy periods. They thrive in busy and unpredictable environments.
As a member of the Food Market & Front End team, the Registration Coordinator is a strong collaborator and creative problem solver with a focus on continuous improvement. They are a consistent and inclusive communicator.
