Different Ways to Give to the Haven

The Haven relies overwhelmingly upon support from the community to carry out its mission. Support comes in a myriad of ways, including financial donations, volunteer time, and donations of food and clothing.

Over 70% of the Haven’s revenues come directly from individuals who make donations by check, credit card, or gifts of stock. We couldn’t do it without you. Thank you! We are proud of our 3rd consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, noting out fiscal best practices. Using your gift carefully is how we honor our donors.

Make a tax-deductible contribution by mailing your check to the Upper Valley Haven, 713 Hartford Avenue, White River Junction, VT 05001.

You can donate easily by credit card online. If you would like to pay by credit card but not online, call Charlene at 802-478-1810 and she will process a credit card gift over the phone.

From your bank account, through a Bill Pay system or online. You can set up these payment options with your bank or other Bill Pay programs.

Pledges that can be paid over time can be made to the Haven. Please consider a stretch gift that you can pay over the course of two or more years. Your pledge commitment allows us to know that we will have funding beyond the current year.  If you’d like to make a pledge, please write a note with your intentions and send it to us, or contact Laura Gillespie, Director of Development & Communications.

Additional Ways to Support the Haven

Purchase a Sabra Field Print

Thanks to generous donors who made an original commissioned piece possible, Upper Valley artist Sabra Field has captured the Haven’s warmth in a gouache painting that has become our new logo and community image. We have 300 framed limited edition prints (titled, numbered, and signed in pencil by Sabra) available to own for a $405 donation ($300 is tax deductible). Contact Jenn Merritt for more information.

Organize a Food Drive

The Haven receives one-third of its food through food drives. Organize one among your neighbors, business or church. Contact Jennifer Fontaine for more information.

The Haven thrives with the support of numerous volunteers from the community. Last year, over 11,000 volunteer hours were logged at the Haven. There are many different volunteer opportunities ranging from serving on the Board of Directors to tutoring kids in the Haven’s After School Program. Learn more about volunteering at the Haven…
