45 Years ~ 45 Partners: Hartford Community Restorative Justice Center
The Hartford Community Restorative Justice Center provides support, resources, and programming aimed at reducing crime and strengthening community connections in the Upper Valley. Their approach is rooted in the principles of restorative justice and includes services for both victims and offenders, often in partnership with local law enforcement and residents.
From their website, restorative justice is defined as a victim-centered, community-based approach for responding to crime. It focuses on the harm that was caused and what needs to happen to make things better. The goal is to build understanding, encourage accountability, and provide an opportunity for healing.
Many of the people we serve at the Haven have connected with the Justice Center, whether through programs or support services. Their team has an open-door policy and often shares creative ideas around housing and other resources. They are thoughtful collaborators, and we are grateful for their continued partnership in supporting members of our community.
