A couple came in to the Haven to ask for a small amount of help to move into an apartment. Both are alcoholics and have been in recovery, and married, for over a year. They were charming in that they obviously loved each other very much. They were so grateful for each other, their extended families and their sobriety. They deeply regretted time wasted when they were drinking. She loves her job at a fast food company, and they spend most evenings cooking, watching movies together, and doing other quiet activities. They talked fondly of their wedding night dinner of cheeseburgers, French fries and ice cream. Now they were ready to move up from a single room to a small apartment of their own, with just a little bit of help to get started. Their happiness filled the room!
