On Saturday, May 18th, members of Dartmouth’s Graduate Relief Team joined a group of Master Gardeners to get the Haven’s gardens going for the season. The gardens at the Haven not only produce food for our Food Shelf but educate those using the Haven services about growing their own food. On our annual Spring Gardening Day volunteers spent the morning planting vegetables, weeding, edging, turning soil, fertilizing and planting seeds and seedlings all around the Haven campus. Thank you to all of the volunteers who got our gardens going; and a big thank-you to the students and faculty at the Hartford Area Career and Technology Center who grew all of our seedlings for us in their greenhouse!
The Haven Through 40 Years
The Haven will commemorate its four decades of service to the region by releasing 40 stories of people, events, ideas, and services fundamental to our mission. We will be releasing these stories weekly, so check back often.
