“I learned of the Haven as I was leaving the sober House where my four-year old son and I were living. We had no place to go. We were homeless. If we had moved into our own place I wouldn’t have stayed sober. I was very vulnerable at that time; I had a young child to take care of, and lots of work ahead of me to get back on my feet. The Haven was the safe place we needed. Thanks to the Haven my son and I are living on our own, I am going back to school to become a substance abuse counselor, I am a Second Growth co-facilitator, and I volunteer at the Haven. Thanks to them I have learned to accept help. Instead of running away from a problem, I tackle it!” – Sarah
