Food Shelf

Food Shelf Hours:  Monday-Thursday: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm / Friday: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

The Food Shelf provides a week’s supply of healthy groceries once a month (including meat, dairy and produce), and unlimited access to bread and produce to anyone in need. We offer a Healthy Eating Program which addresses food shelf visitors’ needs for inexpensive and healthy eating options. It is designed to serve everyone who comes through the doors of the Haven. The program consists of developing healthy and budget-conscious recipes, on-site food preparation using ingredients found at the Food Shelf, and food sampling for clients with hand-outs of the corresponding recipes.

Most of the items in the Haven’s Food Shelf are purchased through the Vermont Food Bank, at the average price of $0.18 per pound. We also receive generous donations of food from individuals, businesses, churches, and civic groups throughout the year. Food drives are always welcome and appreciated!

There is no criteria to make a visit to the Food Shelf. All are welcome.
