Congratulations to Morningside Shelter’s and Brattleboro Area Drop In Center’s Board and staff who are merging to form Groundworks Collaborative, which will be fully functional at the start of their new fiscal year on July 1, 2015! Combining their resources and experience will allow Groundworks Collaborative to be a comprehensive poverty services organization for the Brattleboro, Vermont area, much as the Haven is for the Upper Valley. The Haven has been mentoring and encouraging their work toward this merger over the last 18 months of their three-year journey toward combining forces, through hosting tours and Board and staff discussions about our programming and best practices, and visiting the Brattleboro sites as well. (Pictured is the May 22 public announcement, attended by a large crowd in the Brooks House atrium in Brattleboro.)
The Haven Through 40 Years
The Haven will commemorate its four decades of service to the region by releasing 40 stories of people, events, ideas, and services fundamental to our mission. We will be releasing these stories weekly, so check back often.
