Healthy Eating volunteers use fresh vegetables that are available every day of the week to create a balanced, nutritional meal. They provide basic culinary and nutrition information to the people we serve. They take stock of what we have, come up with a recipe, make copies, put together bags of ingredients, and start cooking. The focus of this program is to demonstrate how to make a healthy meal using Food Shelf ingredients. Thanks to a partnership with CATV, our Healthy Eating program and volunteer Vickie Davis are being featured on a weekly cooking show.
The Haven Through 40 Years
The Haven will commemorate its four decades of service to the region by releasing 40 stories of people, events, ideas, and services fundamental to our mission. We will be releasing these stories weekly, so check back often.
