On Saturday, April 26th, a group of 72 medical, graduate, and undergraduate students from Dartmouth volunteered at 12 different community organizations in the Upper Valley as part of Dartmouth Service Day. This year the event was sponsored by both the Geisel School of Medicine and Dartmouth Graduate Schools. The volunteers that visited the Haven spent the day sorting and organizing our Clothing Room. Their work was essential in helping us get caught up with processing donations; we were able to get clothes out of dozens of donated bags and onto the racks for the community to access.
Some of the participating non-profit sites, in addition to the Haven, included the Good Neighbor Health Clinic, COVER, LISTEN, High Horses, AVA and the Upper Valley Humane Society. The Haven is so grateful for the help, and we look forward to seeing students again next year!
The Haven Through 40 Years
The Haven will commemorate its four decades of service to the region by releasing 40 stories of people, events, ideas, and services fundamental to our mission. We will be releasing these stories weekly, so check back often.
