Dan & Whit’s

Days Of Norwich Final Art

19 Days of Norwich logo

The “19 Days of Norwich” effort was created by Dan Fraser of Dan & Whit’s in Norwich, VT. After learning from a community member that she was shopping to assist with low food supplies at the Haven Food Shelf, he called upon the strength of the Norwich community to create a solution; to assure that no one would go without adequate food this holiday season.
Dan succeeded in rallying a town of individuals, businesses, schools and civic groups to achieve significant results and reinvigorate town spirit and creativity. Norwich business sales were boosted to over $1 million in just 19 days, and then 1% of it – $10,870 – was donated to the Haven by 63 businesses who joined in the fun! “19 Days” also yielded 12,873 pounds of food donations, and an additional $17,006 from local households for purchasing more supplies for the Food Shelf that serves over 10,600 people in need each year. Thank you! Thank you!

Dan Fraser from Dan & Whit’s is determined to solve the Haven’s food shortage problem during the month of December! He has challenged Norwich VT businesses and residents to come together to help those in need in his community! Dan & Whit’s will donate 1% of the first $100,000. 00 total sales between Sunday, December 1st through Thursday, Dec.  19th to the Haven, in the form of a voucher to be used at Dan & Whit’s toward food/grocery items that the Haven can then use to stock its Food Shelf.  He has also challenged other Norwich businesses to join him in giving 1% of total sales up to a certain cap (individual stores will set these as appropriate).  To make this work, however, Norwich stores need customers! So Dan urges Upper Valley residents to shop locally in the town of Norwich to help solve a community problem! To date the following businesses and residents have joined in the effort in various ways (this list is updated weekly):
