The mission of the Tucker Foundation is to “educate Dartmouth students for lives of purpose and ethical leadership, rooted in service, spirituality, and social justice”. The Haven has benefited from the Foundation’s ongoing support for over a decade. On September 6th we had a group of freshman students join us in a day of service that was organized by Tucker and Vital Communities. This was the inaugural community service opportunity for this group of Dartmouth freshman. The students did work in our edible landscape, and also had the opportunity to learn about the Haven’s programs. We all look forward to seeing this same group of students evolve over the next four years as they work toward their educational goals, and also discover themselves and the impacts they can have on the world around them.
The Haven will commemorate its four decades of service to the region by releasing 40 stories of people, events, ideas, and services fundamental to our mission. We will be releasing these stories weekly, so check back often.
