Every first Sunday in May chefs from the Upper Valley’s best restaurants, artisan cheese makers, and beverage provisioners join together in a fundraiser to support the Haven. The event is a late afternoon gala where more than 300 guests will be able to sample cuisine prepared by these artists, listen to live music and bid on silent auction items donated by local businesses and individuals.
“Chefs of the Valley is in its 8th year, and each year adds a new twist which makes the event even more fun. Last year food tables spilled out onto an outdoor terrace on one of the most spectacular days in May, and we were able to use both floors of the clubhouse to include more restaurants than in previous years. We always have top-notch food from the area’s best chefs and fabulous local musicians who donate their time to play for the crowd. Chefs of the Valley launched eight years ago and raises over $30,000 each year for the White River Junction-based organization.
Participating restaurants and businesses have included Ariana’s Restaurant, Bakewell, Bunten Farm, Canoe Club, Carpenter & Main, Cloudland Farm Restaurant, Cobb Hill Cheese, Elixir, Downtown Grocery, The Hanover Inn, Inn at Weathersfield, Kedron Valley Inn, Market Table, The Quechee Club, The Quechee Inn, Salubre, Shepard’s Pie, Simon Pearce, Stella’s, Tip Top Café, Trap Door Bakehouse & Café, Umplebys and more. Local wine merchants include Artisanal Cellars, Baker Distributing, Calmont Beverage and Farnum Hill Ciders.
